AT&T introducing two Windows 8 tablets, Asus VivoTab RT and Samsung ATIV Smart PC for holiday season

AT&T Windows 8 tabletsThe second largest US network carrier, AT&T announced on Thursday that they will be offering a new set of tablets which will run on the Windows 8 operating system during the holiday season. They are Asus VivoTab RT and Samsung ATIV Smart PC. AT&T will be the only U.S. carrier to offer these new tablets from ASUS and Samsung to their customers.

The two upcoming tablets have their own unique features. Asus Vivo Tab RT is the first quad-core Windows RT 4G LTE tablet. It is an ultra–thin and light tablet. It features a 10.1 inch multi-touch Super IPS display with ASUS TruVivid technology that offers a distinct and brilliant viewing experience of photos, books, videos, games, applications and more. This tablet is equipped with 32 GB of internal storage memory and NVIDIA’s next generation quad-core Tegra 3 TE processor. This 4G LTE capable tablet provides enhanced productivity tools for work and it has Microsoft Office home and Student 2013 RT Preview edition.

Another tablet, Samsung ATIV Smart PC will be accompanied by a separable keyboard-docking system, which allows users to easily switch between a folding notebook PC and a tablet PC. This tablet features with a 11.6 inch HD PLS display, Intel Clover Trail 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 64GB of internal storage memory. This tablet comes along with Windows 8, and preloaded with a trail version of Microsoft Office 2013, including Microsoft word, Excel and PowerPoint.

AT&T customers have access to the nation’s largest 4G network, covering 275 million people. Customers purchasing Windows 8 tablets from AT&T have more options in choosing their plan. With new AT&T Mobile Share plans, new and existing customers can share data across smartphones, tablets, and other compatible devices. AT&T Mobile Share allows customers to build a plan to fit their devices and usage. Customers can select one of the new shared data plans or choose one of AT&T’s existing individual or family plans.

Yet, there is no word on its pricing and exact release date.
