Yesterday, Samsung unveiled its 13-inch Series 5 Ultra Touch Windows 8 Ultrabook starting at $809.99 for an Intel Core i3. The 13-inch screen running Windows 8 is expected to be available at the end of October on par with Windows 8.
The 13 inch Series 5 Ultra Touch Windows 8 Ultrabook is one of the most reasonably-priced laptop we’ve seen so far. It features a 1366×768 10 point touch display, 4GB of RAM, and 500GB hard drive with 24GB of ExpressCache (high-speed SSD storage). Samsung also offers Core i5 processor, you can pay an extra $50 only for it. The Ultrabook weighs around 3.83 pounds.
Other than unveiling these Ultrabook, Samsung also launched a pair of Windows 8 tablets with 11.6-inch displays – the rebranded Ativ Smart PC 500T, which will start at $749.99 with keyboard and $649.99 without keyboard, and Ativ Smart PC 700T, which will sell for $1,199.99. The 500T is packed with an Atom Z2760, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. But 700T has a Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage.
Samsung also unveiled the new Samsung Series 9 Premium Ultrabooks at the same event yesterday and are priced at $1,400 for the 15-inch model and $1,300 for the 13-inch model. At the event Samsung also revealed a number of other computers including two new All-in-One PCs, which will start at $800 for the 21.5-inch Series 5 and the Series 7 comes with a 27-inch ($1,700) and 23.6-inch ($1,100) display.
The Samsung Series 5, Series 9, Tablets featuring Windows 8 are expected to be available with other Windows 8 tablets around October 26, which is when Microsoft will officially launch Windows 8, in stores and online.
